Example: I ask whether my child wants to talk now or later. I listen to their account, name one respectful action I noticed, and leave technical instruction for the coach. If an apology is needed, we agree on a suitable time to make it.

01Start with ordinary care

Plan your own first response; this is not a scorecard for a child’s emotions.

02Listen before concluding

Record what was actually said without treating your first interpretation as a fact.

03Separate result from responsibility

Choose one suitable next action; technical teaching stays with the appropriate coach.

04Check my response

Review the adult example after the evening settles.
